To check website Performance Monitoring:


Step 1: Go to MalCare website and sign in using your email ID. 


Step 2: On the MalCare site listing page, select the website you want to check.

 




Step : Once you select the website, you’ll be taken to the Site Detail page. In that page, you can view the PERFORMANCE section.


There are 3 parts in the performance section.

  • Load Time is the time taken for your site to completely load.
  • Pagespeed Insight Score is the score given by Google's Pagespeed Insight tool, which analyses a web page speed on desktop devices based on its actual performance and recommends certain actions accordingly.
  • YSlow Score is the score reported by Yahoo's YSlow tool which analyses a web page and assesses the best practices for enabling high speed performance.

Click on View Report to see the website homepage performance details.





Step 4: After clicking on View Report, you will be taken to a page with Google's Pagespeed Insight tool score, Yahoo's YSlow analytics, and Waterfall Timeline page. 

First let us understand the Pagespeed Insight Score. It is the score Google's Pagespeed insight tool is assigning your website homepage's page speed on desktop devices, based on its actual performance.

There are two sections within this:

  • Fixes are the number of recommendations that you still need to work on.
  • The Already Fixed number tells you the number of recommendations you have already performed and completed.

Based on your Pagespeed Insight score, you will receive recommendations for enhancing your page load speed. You can also check which recommendation holds more weight in the Rule Impact column. Rule Impact represents the positive impact on your site, once a recommendation is followed, in a numeric value. Higher the number, higher the impact. Click on the sign to learn more about any specific recommendation.




Step 5: Now let us see the YSlow section of the page. YSlow Score is the score reported by the Yahoo's YSlow tool which analyses a the homepage and assesses the best practices for enabling high speed performance.

There are two sections within this:

Based on your YSlow score, you will receive recommendations for enhancing your page load speed. You can also check which recommendation works more in your website homepage's favor under the Score column. Score is the quantitative measurement of following a recommendation. Click on the sign to learn more about any specific recommendation.



Step 6: Before going to the details of Timeline section, let us see the details of your website homepage.

  • Total Requests is the total number of HTTP requests made by your website homepage.
  • Page Load Time is the time taken by your website homepage to load completely.
  • Page Size is the size of your site homepage.

Under the Timeline section you will see a table.

  • Request Type is the kind of request your website homepage is making with a particular asset.
    • GET: The resource has been fetched and is transmitted in the message body.
    • HEAD: The entity headers are in the message body.
    • PUT or POST: The resource describing the result of the action is transmitted in the message body.
    • OPTIONS: The resource describing the communication options for the target resource.
    • TRACE: The message body contains the request message as received by the server
  • URL specifies the file that is being requested.
  • File Size is the size of the requested file. 
  • Response Type indicates the HTTP response status codes. The code lets you know whether a specific HTTP request has been successfully completed. Status code 200 means the request has succeeded. Please see the other Status codes here.
  • Load Time is the time taken by that file to load completely.
  • Waterfall represents the timeline for each file on the page.
